The Old Cemetery in Prague's Jewish Quarter dates back to the 15th century.
Jews were forbidden to bury their dead outside the Jewish district and therefore the site became very crowded. The result being that there may be up to twelve layers of burial.
There is large number of tombstones creating a unique amosphere.
